By partnering with the University of Tennessee Agriculture Extension, we are able to offer a hands-on learning experience that allows you to get in-person advice and information catered to your specific sitations. Our attendees got to learn a great deal about the support they can benefit from with the UT Ag Extension programs.
We teach real-life skills that will benefit you and your operation, such as soil testing, forage testing, and what equipment can improve your everyday life. We also touch on how having a business plan for your farm, no matter how large or small, is crucial to your success.
The workshop focused on providing farming information to Veterans and First-time farmers. Topics included soil testing and sample interpretation, forage testing and interpretation, and cattle nutrition (feed/mineral buckets). Classes were also given by The University of Tennesse Hardeman County extention agent and the Natural Conservation Resource Agency agent. This was our first attempt to give back to the community and share with my fellow Veterans. We had three participants and we hope to repeat this workshop this coming spring. Special thanks to UT Extention and NCRS Hardeman County TN.
